PARA MI GENTE
Alexandría Rosé Solís Velázquez is an editorial and fashion photographer rooted in Afro-Caribbean and Afro-Latina storytelling — a love letter to culture, softness, identity, and the beauty of being seen. My work is deeply inspired by the spirit of the Caribbean: loud music through open windows, gold hoops catching sunlight, the warmth of community, sacred femininity, late-night conversations, ocean air, ancestral memory, and the quiet power carried within our people.
Every photograph I create is intentional. I am drawn to emotion, texture, movement, intimacy, and the stories that live between vulnerability and strength. Through fashion and visual storytelling, I explore themes of heritage, self-expression, sensuality, spirituality, and belonging — creating imagery that feels cinematic, honest, and alive.
My creative journey began with Out Studios, my artist house founded in 2016. Until its closing in 2020, it became the foundation of my artistic voice — a space where I learned to create freely, build worlds from emotion, and embrace storytelling as something deeply personal and transformative. That chapter shaped me not only as a photographer, but as a visionary.
Today, Alexandría Rosé Solís Velázquez Studio represents my evolution — a more intimate and intentional extension of who I am as an artist. With a background in makeup artistry, styling, set design, and creative direction, I approach each project as a fully realized visual experience. Every detail matters: the mood, the fabric, the lighting, the music playing in the background, the energy in the room. I believe imagery should not only be seen, but felt.
At the center of my work is community, culture, and representation. I create for the girls who grew up between languages. For the Afro-Latina softness that deserves to be documented with care. For the stories that exist outside of limitation. For the people whose beauty carries generations within it.
This work is my offering — part archive, part memory, part love letter to where I come from and the people who continue to inspire me.
— Rooted in resistance, guided by intention.
